Samsung introduces "super-connected" SMART cameras

Samsung SMART camera

Samsung introduced Wi-Fi enabled cameras that allow their users to transfer their pictures wirelessly to their computers automatically for backup, as well as to upload them to Facebook, Picasa or Photobucket directly from the cameras.

Samsung SMART Camera

The cameras are also capable of beaming their images directly to a samsung smartphone, tablet or TV using Samsung's new Mobile Link feature, and of uploading media to the cloud using Samsug's Allshare Play and Microsoft SkyDrive Cloud services.

A feature called Remote Viewfinder allows users to view their camera's viewfinder on a smartphone and change the camera's settings remotely, a nice improvement over a regular old self-timer.

LG Unveils 55-inch 3D OLED TV, Spectrum Super Phone & Blast Chiller

LG 55-inch 3D OLED TV unveield at CES 2012

LG kicked off Press Day with their latest innovations. As we expected, their new 3D OLED TV was displayed at the show. At 55 inches, it's believed to be the world's thinnest and lightest OLED TV. How thin is it? LG says it's 4mm papaer slim. We were impressed by it's size, but also by the picture quality.

This is expected to hit the market in Quarter 3 of this year. It's speculated to cost somewhere between $8,000-$10,000. At that price, is it really worth buying over a new car? It depends on how you feel about 3D technology. We're prepared to see more 3D TVs as CES rolls out this week.

In addition to their OLED 3D-capable TV, LG unveiled the Spectrum "Super Phone" which will be exclusively available on Verizon's 4G LTE Network. LG has partenered with ESPN to bring you "ESPN Mobile" preloaded in the Spectrum -- featuring first-time-ever HD sports streaming and videos.

The Spectrum will ship with Android Gingerbread, but can later be uprgaded to Ice Cream Sandwich. It features a 1.5Ghz dual core processor, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It will be available on Verizon on January 19th for $199 with a 2-year contract.

LG also talked about the expansion of their smart home appliances. They're adding a "Blast Chiller" to their Smart ThinQ refrigerator. It can cool a canned beverage in less than 5 minutes. Or, two cans or a bottle of wine in 8 minutes. Translation for men: Soon, you won't have to wait too long for your favorite beer to be ready to consume, chilled. This will be a hit at the Dave Graveline household.
